I Chose this picture for simplicity because it is very simple and has one subject. The color schemes are in a light region and this picture has one main focal point so therefore it is simple. There is not too much going on in this picture, it helped me understand simplicity by showing me that a photograph can have a simple subject and still be pretty.
Fill the frame:I chose this picture for fill the frame because the main focal point is the frozen yogurt and it is filling the frame with its vibrant colors and background. It helped me understand fill the frame by having one subject being the main thing.
Rule of thirds:I chose this picture for rule of thirds because it is filling one of the three columns. Since it is far to the right it's giving you a better background on the picture. This helped me understand rule of thirds by showing me the length and column sizes.

Jade, I feel your second "simplicity" photo is much stronger and more successful than the other. The simple logo, offset by the round arch and neutral colors is beautiful. On the other hand, the frappucino picture is actually distracting with all the other drink cups, shelves, tables, windows, tiles and other elements in the frame. Perhaps if this was cropped to show just the upper part of the cup, everything above "Allison" and just the right half of that cut.
ReplyDeleteYummy food and yes it shows texture. Another thing you might want to consider is how you present food. There is a more raw, organic feel to the burrito contents which is appealing and more real feeling than if you were to photograph a burrito cut in half. But on the other hand, if I'm trying to sell food and make it look delicious, I'm actually turned off by the loose tortilla that has been bit. I don't know if that makes sense. It's more like the appeal of freshly prepared compared to leftovers. The strongest image I feel is your rule of thirds with the little girl! I love the dark, negative space contrasting her personality and clothes. Plus she is positioned completely within the gray region, making her stand out.
